People aren’t all bad. In fact, some of them are downright good.
Earlier I posted a little blog titled, The Divided States of America. Will It Ever Get Better?
In it I shared the following:
I’m tired. Not just a little tired mind you. I’m talking bone-tired, feet-draggin’, head droppin’, just want to flop down and call it a day, tired.
And I’m not the only one who feels done and done.
Readers message me pretty regular and they give me varied versions of the same thing.
Folks are plumb worn out.
…Just hate piled atop hate, followed by a drug commercial for depression.
It’s all enough to make a person…depressed.
The responses sure are coming in from readers and almost every one is either outright supportive or sharing their own similar stories of frustration and fatigue. I knew it wasn’t just me! 🙂
Here’s a sample. I never share names unless they specifically ask me to. I’m pretty sure that’s partly why my readers are so willing to share with me.
“You took the words right out of my mind. I feel exactly the same way. Everything is us against them and I’m sick of it. I think that’s what the ones in power want. Keep us divided and fighting with each other so we don’t get together and go after them. You think? At least I’m old. I won’t have to be around to see how bad it gets. I worry about the young ones though. It makes me sad to think there are kids growing up who will never know how great this country used to be. It’s all hate all the time. Don’t you give up though. Keep writing.”
I sure appreciate the vote of confidence and I’ll do my best to keep on keepin’ on.
