This montage of talent is dominated (IMO) by two quite unique musicians. One of course is the legendary “Human Riff”, Keith Richards. The other lesser known, (though not among blues -n- gospel circles) is the immensely talented Kevin Moore, dubbed Keb’ Mo’ by his drummer years earlier. The name stuck, and so did this guy’s ability to play the blues. In this video, Keb’ is over sixty years old! The guy could pass for half that age! Guess the blues have been very-very good to him! (Keith on the other hand looks like he literally sailed the seas with Blackbeard some three hundred years ago.)
Enjoy a great rendition of the Bob Marley song, Get Up Stand Up. Marley would have been seventy years old last month.
And go ahead and check out more of Keb’ Mo’ while you’re at it:
“This is a wonderful book. The characters are so real that you become involved with them and care about what happens to them. The main character, Hap Wilkes, is a tough and stubborn man with regrets about the past and a great love that was lost to him many years ago because of his sense of honor in trying to do the right thing, and blaming himself for all it cost him. Old and alone, with his body breaking down on him, he gets to see what might have been, while suddenly facing the fight of his life with a government gone wrong and trying to take what little he has left. His story is familiar to anyone who listens to the news, but there are still many surprises coming his way as he tries to find redemption for the mistakes of his past. I hope others find as much enjoyment in the journey as I did. It is well worth your time.”
